Every parent wants his/her child to explore as many opportunities as possible during his schooling like school scholarships. But we all know that due to the pace of life, we are always unable to suggest the right competitive exams for our children, and the result of which a child loses many good opportunities.

Thus I am providing here the list of different types of competitive and school scholarship tests for kids.

 

~ICAS EXAMS

ICAS exams are conducted in various primary-year classes. ICAS recognizes and rewards student achievement in areas such as English, Maths, Science, Spelling, Writing, and Digital Technologies. The series of tests are designed to match and test skills that are learned in the school classroom.

~OC EXAMS

Opportunity classes (OC exam) is conducted in year 4 to get admission into year 5 and 6. Only a few schools are OC schools and there are few seats only. It is a highly competitive exam. Schools are usually out of catchment.

~AAS Scholarship

For admission to high school (year 7), some of the private schools offer scholarships for the kids. This test is conducted in year 6 to get admission into year 7 in a private school. Many of the top private schools conduct it via AAS. Seats are extremely limited, and the cut-off is usually very high.

~ACER Scholarship

For admission to high school (year 7), some of the private schools offer scholarships for the kids. This test is conducted in year 6 to get admission into year 7 in a private school. Many of the top private schools conduct it via ACER. Seats are extremely limited, and the cut-off is usually very high.

~Gifted and Talented Exams

This test is conducted in year 6 for admission to year 7 of public high schools. Few public high schools have a section for gifted and talented kids, where kids are admitted only if they clear the gifted and talented entrance exam. You need to get in touch with the individual public high schools to fill out the forms of it.

~Selective Exams

A selective exam test is conducted in year 6 for admission to year 7 of the high school. Only a few schools are selective schools and there are few seats only. It is a highly competitive exam. Schools are usually out of catchment.

~HAST

HAST is a selection test used by schools to determine academic performance at the top end of achievement. Different schools use selection tests for different purposes. Selective government secondary schools and some independent schools in Australia and overseas, use the HAST to determine which students will gain entry to the schools.
